![]() I'd like to follow-up on our last post about the answered prayer I received after 10 years of praying. This quote from Stormie Omartian poses some good points and questions for reflection on the subject of waiting for an answer. May you be blessed and encouraged!

![]() As we were driving along Lougheed Highway recently, my husband noticed that more semi-trucks were travelling on it than usual. He mentioned that the reason could be that the drivers are avoiding the bridge tolls. At a $9-$10 charge one-way, there may be wisdom in the decision to change their route. There can also be times in our lives when we need to change the direction we are traveling. Someone once said: “If we don’t change our direction, we’re likely to end up where we’re headed.” ![]() BEING REMEMBERED IN PRAYER by Stormie Omartian ("The Power of Praying Through the Bible", p. 379) " I thank God, whom I serve, as my ancestors did, with a clear conscience, as night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers." 2 Timothy 1:3 "Imagine being remembered day and night in prayer. Think of how loved and cared for you would feel. When we are prayed for, we FEEL those prayers - even if we don't know people are praying, even if we don't fully understand what it is we are feeling. When we lift up each other in prayer, ... ![]() I am sending this as a follow-up to my previous post, "The Circle of Intercession" as I think some of you may like to hear of different ways to encourage your CHILDREN TO PRAY. In the Silent Circle of Prayer the children stand or sit in a circle and join hands. You (or the teacher) are also in the circle. First, the children are to close their eyes and think about God. ![]() I hold a morning prayer meeting 2 times a month in my home. (You are welcome to come if you like.) Our goal in joining together is to hear from God and pray His desires. Our prayer requests for ourselves or others are not at the top of the list although at the end I usually ask if someone has a need for which we can intercede. So, our prayers include topics such as government, our community, drugs, churches, children, marriages, news items, etc - we don't know where He will lead but when we are done, we are absolutely certain that He has led our hearts and prayers. It is an awesome time filled with humility, His presence, and overwhelming fulfillment. ![]() I like to go into the New Year with a renewed vision and desire to move ahead in what God has planned for me. This year, I have a strong desire to learn more and teach more about Prayer and Spiritual Growth in 2014. Accordingly, I will be offering classes on these subjects throughout the year. I foresee a relaxed atmosphere, probably in my home. Fun and informative! ... ![]() I love to encourage and teach about Prayer. Here is one of my favourite poems. What an encouragement it is to us. Please take a moment to read it; I know it will bless you. It is so important that we have an awareness of God's purpose and plan for not only our prayers but also, so importantly, for us as His special instruments. God bless you as you continue to learn and grow in this very special calling from the Lord! We are serving Him together. ![]() Many times while driving with my husband, I wonder where everyone is going in such a hurry. I have a fantasy of being a roving reporter, approaching cars at red lights with a microphone and interviewing the drivers. This always brings to mind the true story of Dale Rooks, a school crossing guard in Florida who had tried everything to slow down drivers through the school zone. Nothing worked, until he wrapped a blow dryer in electrical tape so it looked like a radar gun. |
