He mentioned that the reason could be that the drivers are avoiding the bridge tolls.
At a $9-$10 charge one-way, there may be wisdom in the decision to change their route.
There can also be times in our lives when we need to change the direction we are traveling.
Someone once said: “If we don’t change our direction, we’re likely to end up where we’re headed.”
Much has been written on the how-to’s of changing life direction and most are very helpful, but there is one thing we must have before we endeavour to make any changes.
Without it, our decisions can be wrong or ineffective and cause us to become discouraged.
We must first seek God’s wisdom.
He knows the best plan for our life and will guide us along the right road to fulfill His plan.
James 1, Verse 5 promises if we ask for wisdom, it shall be given to us.
Proverbs 2, verses 6 to 9 state: ”For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding;
(7) He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless; (8) for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones; (9) then you will understand what is right and just and fair—every good path.”
Truly, His will for us is found in His wisdom.
We also gain wisdom by spending regular time with God through prayer and reading the Bible.
These moments in His presence will bring us in line with His desires for our lives, enable us to hear from Him, and guide us along the life journey He has prepared just for us.
After over 30 years as a Christian, I still enjoy looking back at the transforming power of Jesus’ presence when I asked Him into my life and how He redirected my haphazard course to His beautiful plan.
To quote the hymn, Amazing Grace: “I once was lost, but now I’m found,” and am thankfully on the right path.
So, if you are wanting a new direction or fresh start, let Jesus lead the way. You can be assured that as you remain close to Him, He will guide you step-by-step each day to a victorious and fulfilling life.
“I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go” – Isaiah 48:17.
