For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12
As I am learning more about praying God’s Word, I have come to believe that we all should learn to ...
Our prayers also become more powerful and life-changing because, as we are praying God’s Word, we are in agreement with Him and His power is released to answer our prayers.
Stormie Omartian has written a book entitled, “Praying the Bible into Your Life” where she provides Scriptures to “illustrate how to include a verse into your prayers so that it inspires you to pray as the Holy Spirit leads you.”
I believe these prayers will be a good learning tool for us and have decided to post a verse with its corresponding prayer once or twice a week along with my regular posts. In this way we can journey and learn together as we grow in this beautiful and rewarding way to pray. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how quickly you will begin to enjoy and pray the Scriptures.
So, here we go! We are starting with the New Testament. God bless you!
Praying the Scriptures (From “Praying the Bible into Your Life”)

Matthew 6:33 - But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
“Lord, I seek You first this day, with thanksgiving for Your promise that You will supply all my needs. Help me to never put worldly kingdoms and distractions before You.”
