Article 4 - Subject: Intercession

You may recall from past lessons that, firstly, to intercede is to pray for other people and secondly, that we are ALL intercessors. God has created us and planned for us to make a difference by praying for the needs of others.

Here is a wonderful quote by Charles Stanley which explains what intercession is and how our prayers can be more effective. I especially like how he also provides a glimpse into how we ourselves are changed and become more Christlike while interceding for others.

"Our prayers are the link between God's inexhaustible resources and people's needs. When we intercede, we stand in the gap between the need and the satisfaction of that need . . . if we are going to pray for others, we must ask the Lord to help us see what others see and feel what they feel. When we share in their pain, we will pray with an earnestness we have never known before."

HOMEWORK: Make it a goal to pray for at least 3 people a day. It can be done during your own prayer time alone or face-to-face with the person. Your interest and heart to help others through prayer will begin to grow and flourish! Bless you!
