As I mentioned in our July 2nd post, we will be looking at our friendship with God and its role in our prayer lives. This will be Part 1 of 2. To get us started, the following is a wonderful quote from Edward Miller. Here we can see how our relationship - our friendship - with God is the foundation of learning and becoming all He would want us to be. (I would like ... Happy Canada Day! This is a day for us to remember how blessed we are to be Canadians living and worshipping freely every day. It also reminds us that we have a responsibility to pray for God's blessings and will over our nation throughout the year. You might say we are ALL called to pray for Canada. But where to begin? We are utterly dependent upon Him. And so we are - sheep. We entrust our plans, confide shortages, and confess sins. We empty and open and unearth and expose - for THIS IS communion. Bold and daring and confident, THIS IS prayer." Author Unknown From time-to-time I like being reminded of WHY we pray. I find it refreshes and reminds me of the important and life-changing gift God has given us in prayer. This beautifully written, short quote is a perfect example. It speaks to the holy, blessed connection with our Loving Father who desires to give us so much and also reminds us of the power transmitted to us from Him to impact the world for His purpose. |
