God Created Each Of Us For A Purpose

This past week, the future heir to the throne of England was born – Prince George.
As I did with his father William’s birth, I imagined this precious baby totally unaware of the royal plan for his life. That as far back as conception, his life’s purpose had been established: He would one day reign as the King of England.
Would it surprise you to learn that even before you were born, God also had a royal purpose for your life?
In the Bible, the Lord declared to Jeremiah: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
Just like Jeremiah, God has a plan for each of our lives. We were created for a purpose.
It is only when we live God’s plan for us that we find true meaning and peace.
I learned that when I started attending church at the age of 29 and saw my life forever changed.
I can honestly say that I would never want to go back to a self-directed life without God’s leading each day.
Learning God’s purpose for us begins by asking Jesus into our life.
From there, we seek to know Him better through prayer, reading the Bible, and meeting with other believers regularly.
Through seeking and asking for His guidance, we begin living God’s perfect plan.
Believe me, it is the best plan.
"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29, verses 11 to 13)
Of course, we weren’t born to a 62-gun salute and lifetime bodyguards like the royal baby, but we have something far better.
We have the confidence that as followers of Christ, the King of Kings, we are God’s children and heirs.
He is protecting and guiding us each step along the way as we live the awesome life
He has planned for us.
Now that’s a royal purpose.
